LYC: How long have you been a Massage Therapist?
I’ve been a Massage Therapist for seven years and I’ve spent my entire career in Atlanta.

LYC: What inspired you to become a Massage Therapist?
I wanted to find a stress-free and enjoyable profession that felt both rewarding and challenging. Nowadays, people seem incredibly stressed and in some cases, mean. I didn’t want a profession that would cause extreme stress or alter my personality. Eventually, I received an email regarding a Massage Therapy program and I jumped on the opportunity to enroll. I can say it was the best decision of my life!

LYC: You’re a business owner, an active Massage Therapist, mother and wife. How do you balance it all?
Since my daughter was born just 15 months ago, life is busier than ever. However, I love what I do so it doesn’t feel like work. Being a small business owner, Massage Therapist, mother and wife gives me a good balance. My massage sessions allow me to find the stillness I crave when life becomes hectic. Thankfully, my husband is wonderfully supportive. He is my partner in life and business. Together we’re like yin and yang – inseparable and contradictory opposites.

LYC: A New Year is upon us and New Year’s resolutions are top of mind. How can frequent, year-round massages benefit someone and improve their overall well-being?
Massage Therapy comes with an endless list of benefits including relief from sports injuries, strains and muscle soreness. In my opinion, the most meaningful benefits are the positive impact on your mental health. Massage can reduce anxiety, depression and insomnia. Imagine how refreshed you’d feel in the New Year with frequent massages.

LYC: What’s the best compliment you’ve received from a client?
Recently, I worked with a client from the Netherlands. He was in Atlanta for a business trip and had massages all around the world. He said my massage was his best ever and wished I practiced in his home country. In fact, he scheduled another massage just three days before his departure. Hearing his kind words made me proud and affirmed I’m doing what I’m meant to do. I love making a positive impact on people!
